Players and teams qualify by participating and winning in our the North American Regionals event.
North American Regionals is live-streamed for the world audience.
The top 32 Fortnite, top 8 Overwatch, top 8 Rocket League, top 8 Valorant, and top 20 Apex Legends teams will be invited to participate in the North American Finals, a live event for world glory!
North American Regionals (Regionals) is the major qualifying event for North American Finals (NAFs). 2024 Regionals is scheduled for April 22 to May 12, 2024.
Teams competing in Regionals will have the opportunity to qualify for NAFs that are being held in Orlando, FL at Full Sail University on June 28-30, 2024.
The following is a general guide for the execution of Regionals and does not replace any established rules or procedures for regular match execution.
Parent / Player registration will open on March 18, 2024, and will close on April 15, 2024, at 5 PM. All parents and players must submit their 2023 XP League Regional and North American Finals Application by this date.
Team registrations (for XP League locations) for Regionals will open on April 22, 2024, and will close on May 12, 2024. Requirements for registering teams and players for Regionals:
Player(s) must be registered players in XP League competing in the Spring season, and compete in the Summer season for NAF, and be on a monthly subscription with XP League Macomb + Troy (in competitive season play, club play, etc.).
Player(s) must meet the XP League age requirements as defined in the General Rules.
The lower age limit is at the discretion of the league location and with permission from the parent/guardian of the player. However, it is recommended for league play that players be at least 8 years old.
The upper age limit starting is 17 years of age. To further clarify the NAFs age requirement: If a player was 17 years of age anytime after 2023 NAFs and/or before 2024 NAFs, they are eligible to play on an XP League team, and are eligible for Regional and NAFs.
Regionals brackets will be created in LeagueSpot and locations will be able to submit their teams into their game specific groups. All teams must have their Epic ID's (where appropriate) and Discord ID's in LeagueSpot.
General Process Overview. 1) Player and Parents fill out the Regionals Application indicating their interest to play and travel to Florida. 2) Coaches collect all players interested and formulate teams. 3) Parents accept or reject the teams invitation. 4) Players compete with their Regionals / NAF designated team.
Season Registration Requirement. Registration in our Spring and Summer Season is required to participate in the North American Regionals (Regionals) and North American Finals (Nationals).
Purpose: The purpose of the North American Regional Tournament is to qualify for our North American Finals in Orlando, Florida.
Participation is Optional. Regionals are optional and players can play after receiving a location invitation only. Coaches and staff will select players from our pool of interested players, and they will be placed on teams to compete.
Player Commitment. The invitation is based on players' commitment to attend Nationals. Only players that are intending to attend NAF, an in-person event in Florida, or express they're just wanting to compete, can be invited to play in Regionals.
Existing Rosters. A player on an existing team may be placed with players from another team for Nationals. New teams will compete in Regionals. Existing team rosters may change.
Player Designation. When receiving an invitation to play for Regionals (and Nationals), a player will be designated as either a Starter (guaranteed to play at Regionals and Nationals) or as an Alternate. Parents are not required to accept the invitation.
Starters are considered to be our primary team players. Coaches can guarantee that the player will play at Regionals.
Alternates are considered to be key members of a team, but they are not guaranteed to play. If a player is sick, cannot play, cannot travel, an alternate will be selected to fill in as a Starter. Being an alternate does not mean they won't play. Their play-time will be at the discretion of the League Commissioners and Coaches. It will be based on our competition, our potential tournament placement, and other factors. We cannot guarantee that all Alternates will play.

Some considerations (if possible and appropriate) will be made when seeding into groups, such as:

Rocket League - 3 Starters + 2 alternates (5 total).
Apex Legends - 3 Starters + 2 alternate (5 total).

Starters are considered to be our primary team players. Coaches can guarantee that the player will play at Regionals and Nationals.
Alternates are considered to be key members of a team, but they are not guaranteed to play. If a Starter player is sick, cannot play, cannot travel, an alternate will be selected to fill in as a Starter. Being an Alternate does not mean they won't play. Their play-time will be at the discretion of the Coaches and League Commissioners. It will be based on our competition, our potential tournament placement, and other factors. We cannot guarantee that all Alternates will play.
A players' status as Starter or Alternate may change if players unexpectedly drop or join.
Parents are not required to accept the invitation.
